I know the parallel may seem strange at first, but there are actually a number of shared key points in these two tasks, and as someone who has been fighting a nasty flu over the past few days, and working in affiliate marketing for close to 9 years, I’d like to list the similarities in my today’s blog post.
Regardless of what side you approach affiliate marketing from — either as a merchant, or as an affiliate — 3 key elements will determine whether you will succeed or fail:
1. Discipline — Just as in fighting an illness, discipline is a component that is crucial to affiliate marketing success. Being willing is not enough. Being ready is not enough. It takes determination and discipline to succeed.
2. Systematic approach — You can’t just “do something real quick” today, and wake up a millionaire tomorrow. That’s not how it works. If you really want to succeed with affiliate marketing, you better have a methodical approach as a backbone of your efforts.
3. Right remedies — Just as in combating flu you need the right medications for your problems, so you also want to have the right tools (and knowledge!) to help you streamline your affiliate marketing efforts. If there is a way to automate something, automate it!

Nice!
I concur with the wise notions mentioned. To add, it is very much a learning exercise figuring out what works best in specific scenarios. i.e. identify the illness, find the right medicine – easily said, hard to do (hence it is not likely to be a “get rich quick” situation.
