Some claim that back in 1899 the Commissioner of the U.S. Patent Office, Charles H. Duell, stated that “everything that can be invented has been invented.” There is proof that this phrase is just another myth, and in fact, just the opposite is true of Duell’s approach. We all experience the power of innovation nearly every day, and this weekend has been a weekend full of pleasant discoveries for myself too.
For the first time in life I have tried three things:
- Gillette Fusion Power razor
- Orthopedic neck pillow
- Netbook computer
One word — “wow!” The Gillette’s new (or, actually, not so new, but definitely new to me) technology makes the shaving easy (you can hardly feel anything) and extremely smooth; the pillow is excellent to sleep on (regardless of the first-glance/touch hardness); while my new netbook is light, sleek, fast, and great for the things I bought it for (email, browsing, word processing). Besides “wow”, there’s another word/attribute that’s all of the above share in common — convenient. All of these things are extremely convenient to use, and if you haven’t tried them out, I highly recommend all three. Thank God for inventors that make life more comfortable!
